ELECTRIC SKATEBOARD 2018
Summer 2018, Personal Project
I designed and built an electric skateboard optimized for cost and comfort to make my campus commutes faster and more enjoyable.
• Designed an axle insert to integrate with OTS motor mount
• 3D printed axle prototype model to test integration
• Performed FEA simulation in Solidworks to determine optimal material for axle
• Curated parts and soldered connections
• Painted bottom side Golden Gate Bridge design
• Hand-cut and arranged top side grip tape design
• Programmed speed controller to limit maximum amperage supplied to the motor
Fun Fact: I used a plastic desk drawer organizer as the enclosure by marking and drilling locations of mounting holes and access points before spray painting it black.
